International meeting in Portugal
APRIL 2025
During 9-11.04.2025, representatives of all partner organizations participated in the international meeting of the TechVET project, which took place in Coimbra, Portugal.
The meeting began with a presentation of the headquarters of the host organization MONDEGO, followed by inspiring interviews with students from Poland and Spain who are currently participating in international mobilities in Coimbra. It was an excellent opportunity to hear firsthand experiences from project participants and gather valuable insights useful for planning future activities.
The project partners also reviewed the progress on Result 1 and discussed tasks related to Result 2. This joint analysis allowed for a more precise allocation of responsibilities, identification of areas for improvement, and the definition of next steps in the development of the project results. The meeting also facilitated the exchange of experiences and good practices related to project management, internal communication, and dissemination strategies.
The agenda included a series of study visits to institutions involved in education, therapy, and support for people with disabilities, as well as vocational education. We visited, among others, the organizations APPACDM and CASPAE, as well as the vocational school Escola Secundária Dom Dinis, where we became familiar with the Portuguese model of preparing students for international mobility. These visits provided partners with new perspectives and inspiration for implementing solutions that enhance inclusiveness and the effectiveness of vocational education.
One of the key points in the program was the visit to Critical Software, where topics related to managing cultural diversity and supporting neurodivergent individuals in the workplace were discussed.
During the meeting, special attention was also given to the dissemination of results, project promotion, and Europass certification. Partners agreed on the next stages of cooperation and discussed organizational matters related to the implementation of upcoming tasks.
The TechVET partnership once again proved how important the exchange of experience and good practices is in vocational education at the European level.
International meeting in Greece
OCTOBER 2024
This time, representatives of four partners from Poland, Portugal, and Greece had the opportunity to meet in Greece to refine their work on the results of the TechVET project and gain further good practices in the field of vocational education and the support of people with disabilities.
The three-day meeting (23–25 October 2024) provided the chance to visit as many as four vocational education institutions in Greece:
a) 1st EPAL of Chalkida, Vocational High School No. 1
b) 2nd EPAL of Chalkida, Vocational High School No. 2
c) EPAS of Chalkida, Vocational School
d) EPAS for People with Disabilities, Vocational School in Athens
We are grateful for the valuable conversations with teachers and students who participated in international mobilities and were willing to share their experiences and best practices with us.
During the meeting, we also had the opportunity to listen to a lecture by Professor Alexandros Sachinidis, a lecturer at the University of West Attica. The lecture focused on the role and importance of culture in vocational education during student mobility.
The rich working sessions and the new dose of inspiration have motivated us even more to continue our efforts. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until April 2025 for the next international face-to-face meeting, which will take place in beautiful Coimbra, Portugal.
International meeting in Poland
JUNE 2024
What are the current needs and expectations of companies towards new employees? How can we increase the participation of people with special needs in EU projects? How can we make use of new IT tools in vocational education? These were the key questions we addressed during our first meeting in Poland, held on 19–21 June 2024.
As part of our TechVET project, four partners — Powiatowy Zespół Szkół nr 1 in Sieradz, Dobre Kadry Research and Training Centre Ltd., Mondego Mobility, and the Institute of Citizen’s Sustainable Development and Health — are collaborating to develop two main project results.
During our study visits, we had the opportunity to observe how international companies such as Schnee Polska and Jeronimo Martins Polska S.A. Distribution Centre, which employ many foreign workers, support their integration and provide additional resources. We explored various procedures and best practices that could be implemented in Erasmus+ vocational mobility projects.
Additionally, we visited the Special Educational Centre in Sieradz and the Wrocław Centre for Psychostimulation, both of which work with people with disabilities. These visits helped us identify excellent procedures and materials supporting the organisation of vocational education and the implementation of mobility projects for individuals with special needs.
Moreover, we had the privilege of participating in workshops led by Marianna Agnieszka Pietrus-Rajman from Wrocław University of Economics and Business, and Michał Siwkowski, an eTwinning ambassador, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and Erasmus+ expert. Their knowledge and experience provided tremendous support and became key elements in the development of our project results. We would also like to extend special thanks to Café Równik, where people with disabilities continue therapy through employment, offering excellent service and wonderful opportunities for conversation to all guests.
